Dr. Rolf Schlagloth

Rolf is a dedicated koala ecologist who strongly believes in the power of the species as a flagship for conservation.

His involvement in koala research spans ethics, history, disease, anthropogenic threats, and management. With extensive hands-on experience in handling and monitoring koalas, Rolf is also a passionate advocate for community education and raising awareness about the urgent need to protect koala habitat.

Dr. Flavia Santamaria

Flavia is a passionate koala biologist dedicated to investigating the effects of threats to koalas' long-term survival, with a particular focus on the impact of diseases and stress on individual animals. She and her wonderful team have been instrumental in developing a method to identify stress hormones in koala feces, as well as establishing baseline hormone levels, a fundamental step in non-invasively assessing stress in wild koalas. Flavia is driven by a desire to understand how human actions are affecting the health of koalas and their environment.

Most importantly, Flavia believes that without acquiring and protecting the habitat of this flagship species, we are declaring their disappearance. She knows that we are responsible for their future survival and is deeply committed to changing the course of action for the future of koalas and other native wildlife.

Gabrielle is the CEO and Founder of BrodiMapi LLC. As an avid community-based conservationist and digital media designer and developer, she is passionate about helping communities, clients, and stakeholders engage meaningfully in conservation.

Through BrodiMapi LLC, Gabrielle offers digital media marketing and mapping services that support long-term community empowerment and heritage conservation.
